Last March 5, 2024, 200 indigenous women celebrated Women’s Day at Midsayap Town Plaza and SCC Nature Farm. The gathering aims to celebrate Women’s Month spotlighting indigenous women’s role as carers of land and producers of food. It also sounded off women’s strong opposition to the proposed Charter Change, and the People’s Initiative to CHA-CHA.
The program started at Midsayap Town Plaza followed by a motorcade to Southern Christian College Nature Farm where a program and a seed exchange was held.
Indigenous communities present during the activity belong to the Erumenen ne Menuvu of North Cotabato, Teduray and Lambangian communities of BARMM, and Kirinteken, Pulangiyen, Manobo communities in Bukidnon.
LILAK celebrates Women’s Day with indigenous communities since 2018. This year, it was co-organized with the Erumenen ne Menuvu Women’s Organization, an organization of Erumenen ne Menuvu women in Midsayap, North Cotabato. #WomensMonth2024 #lakasngkatutubongkababaihan #NoToChaCha
