Human rights abuses perpetrated by the Moroccan regime against Saharawi workers and the the rest of its people have to be addressed.  Recent violence in Western Sahara demonstrates an urgent need for human rights monitoring to avoid further instability.  Moreover, the United Nations is failing its responsibility to protect the victims of the conflict.  It is time for Saharawi people to exercise their right to decide on their own fate and for everyone to demand from the Moroccan regime to respect the fundamental freedoms of its people.
