Search for missing ‘Sendong’ victims goes online

MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos have harnessed the power of Facebook to help tropical Sendong victims search for their missing friends and relatives.
With the number of casualties rising to more than a thousand as of posting time, people are going online to make their search easier. Two pages have been created on social networking site Facebook for people to post photos and profiles of their missing loved ones.
1. Sendong missing persons
2. Missing persons of CDO and Iligan
“One for Iligan, help CDO (Cagayan de Oro)” said the icon of one page which, as of posting time, had 746 likes and less than a hundred photos and personal descriptions posted on its wall.
“PLEASE POST THE PICTURES OF THE MISSING PEOPLE OF CDO AND ILIGAN IN THIS PAGE. May this page help find loved ones and friends who were lost because of Bagyong Sendong.” the page’s “About” said.
