By Nelson C. Bagaforo
DAVAO CITY — Three captives of the New People’s Army (NPA) appealed to President Benigno Aquino III to suspend military operations in Davao and Caraga regions to pave way for their safe and immediate release.
The appeal, made by Mayor Henry Dano of Lingig town in Surigao del Sur and his military escorts Corporal Alrey Villasis Desamparado and Private First Class Allan Pelino Saban, was contained in an audio message recorded on August 23 and released to media organizations by the National Democratic Front in Southern Mindanao (NDF-SM).
