MANILA — The government assured Friday that no sector will be left out in coming up with socio-economic reforms needed to end the 43-year communist insurgency in the Philippines.

Ednar Dayanghirang, a member of the state peace panel, said concerns of the indigenous people will surely be brought to the negotiating table.

“All efforts should address the roots of the armed conflict to achieve genuine peace,” said Dayanghirang who chairs the Reciprocal Working Committee (RWC) on CASER.

CASER is one of three key agreements that the government and the communist rebels have agreed to complete within a period of 18 months to three years.

The government peace panel is in the process of drafting its CASER proposal to be presented to their counterparts at the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) in the next round of formal talks.
