Alyansa Tigil Mina (ATM) joins farmers, human rights groups, and social movements in demanding the immediate release of Magsasaka Partylist Nominee Lejun Dela Cruz, a victim of attempted assassination and physical assault by police authorities.
Lejun is a dedicated organizer and leader of marginalized groups, who has been recently a target of state violence and fabricated charges. The brutality he suffered under the hands of police agents is part of a pattern of systemic abuses by the state, which is bent on suppressing the hard-earned human rights and freedoms of political activists.
We extend our solidarity with all democratic forces calling for “human rights for all” as we demand full accountability from culpable state agents involved in the failed extrajudicial killing of Lejun.
Like Lejun and all human rights and environmental defenders, we remain committed in pursuing social justice towards a truly equitable and democratic Philippine society.
