We are frustrated with DENR’s double talk about their commitment to enforce the rehabilitation of Manila Bay and stopping the destructive dredging, seabed quarrying and reclamation projects along Manila Bay.

We have time and again requested information, space to participate, and sought dialogue with DENR, but this has not been adequately responded to by the agency.

While we also maintain openness and willingness to constructively engage DENR, we are frustrated with the slowness. Sometimes, we suspect a deliberate disregard of effectively providing remedies to our issues and complaints. In most instances, DENR is just providing lip-service to their commitments, but have yet to genuinely provide real solutions to the issues along the failed Manila Bay rehabilitation.
