MANILA — Thirty-eight percent of Filipinos believe that the Philippine economy deteriorated in 2011, results of a recent Pulse Asia survey showed on Monday.
The survey, conducted last November 10 to 23, 2011, showed that only 18 percent of Filipinos surveyed believed that the economy improved. The 38 percent who believed the economy deteriorated was an increase compared to the October 2010 survey that showed only 16 percent of Filipinos believed the economy deteriorated during that period.
Among those who claimed that the Philippine economy is in a “worse state,” 66 percent were “strongly affected” by this deterioration. Majority experienced economic deterioration across geographic areas and socio-economic groups.
