No pardon recommendation for Abadilla 5 yet — Aquino

President Benigno Aquino III said he has yet to receive the papers for the possible commutation of the life sentences of the so-called Abadilla 5.
“The Abadilla 5 file has not yet reached me,” Aquino said.
The President said the recommendation that he received from the Board of Pardons and Parole was that for a British national who is a Thalidomide victim.
Aquino was referring to the case of William Burton, a Thalidomide victim who was convicted for trying to smuggle out of the country 12 pounds of marijuana in 1992.
