Opapp marks peace pact anniversary
THE Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (Opapp) takes the lead on the silver year anniversary commemorating the historic 1986 Mount Data Peace Accord Tuesday, September 13.
Mount Data Hotel in Bauko, Mountain Province was the site of the “sipat” or exchange of peace tokens between the government forces led by then President Corazon Aquino and Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CPLA) headed by rebel priest Conrado Balweg for the cessation of hostilities 25 years ago.

Aquino, who stood as witness, presented a Bible and a rosary, an Armalite rifle from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and a spear and shield from the CPLA.
