MARIKINA WATERSHED INITIATIVE
On August 29, 2011, let’s Celebrate National Heroes Day by Planting Native Trees in the Marikina Watershed and with a Picnic/Interaction with local community organizations

Malayang Samahan ng Katutubo sa Antipolo
Makakalikasang Samahan ng Kaysakat
Calawis Punlaang Bayan Association
Tulungan sa Kabuhayan sa Calawis
Nagkakaisang Samahan ng Magsasaka sa Barangay Calawis
Sapinit Watershed Settlers Association
Where: Boso-Boso sub-watershed in Antipolo City in Barangays San Jose and Calawis
(Sitios San Joseph and Ysiro, Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City / Puroks 4,5,6 and Sitio Binayoyo, Barangay Calawis)
Meeting Places:
1. Jollibee / Shell Station, Marcos Highway, Antipolo City
2. SM Masinag, Marcos Highway, Antipolo City
Meeting Time: 6:30 am; 7:00 am sharp leave for planting sites
Public Jeepneys will bring volunteers to planting sites and back to SM Masinag/Jollibee in Marcos Highway
What to wear? Long pants and long sleeve shirt, hat and rain gear. Suggested footware: Slippers with straps (Mojos), or hiking shoes;
What to Bring! Drinking Water (2 liters) and Food (Merienda and Lunch)
ALSO Bring: MOSQUITO Repellant
Schedule:
8:00 am – Welcome and Orientation (jump-off point of various planting sites)
8:20 am – Hike to planting sites and interaction with local community organizations
9:00 am to11 am – Planting native trees
11:00 am hike to picnic area / interaction with local community organizations
12:00 noon Picnic lunch
1:00 pm. Dialogue with community organizations and next steps
2:00 pm Leave Planting sites
