Child welfare code may get council’s nod | Sun.Star.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The proposed Child and Youth Welfare Code is certain to get the City Council’s approval after much needed data to amend the draft proposal have been gathered, said a councilor.
Councilor Jimmy Lazatin, author of the code that aims to boost the rights of children and the youth as well as enhance welfare programs for them, said the data needed to come up with the situational analysis to amend the draft that was presented last April 8 at the council.

“Last April 8, we conducted the third hearing for the proposed code for the youth and children with the Local Council for Protection of Children… I am certain the code will be passed and approved soon,” he said.
