Event Overview:

The 14th Human Rights Pinduteros Choice Awards is an annual online event that celebrates human rights defenders who utilize the internet to inform, inspire, and mobilize the public in support of human rights. The event recognizes exceptional online content and initiatives that contribute to the promotion and defense of human rights in the Philippines.

This year’s awards will also serve as a build-up to the International Human Rights Day on December 10, by encouraging netizens to engage with human rights campaigns, raising awareness on key issues, and supporting the collective fight against disinformation.

Objectives:

1. Promotion of Human Rights: To amplify human rights issues and campaigns online by recognizing individuals and groups whose digital content contributes to advocacy.
2. Recognition of HR Pinduteros: To give recognition to outstanding efforts of human rights advocates and defenders who actively engage the public through online platforms.
3. Engagement and Awareness: To encourage the public, especially netizens, to participate in human rights campaigns by voting in the awards and learning about key issues through nominees’ content.
4. Build Momentum for Human Rights Day: To raise awareness and engagement for the celebration of International Human Rights Day (December 10).

   Voting will be open to the public through online platforms, encouraging participation in selecting the winners.
2. GZ Meet-ups (FB Live)
   A series of live discussions on Facebook, bringing together human rights defenders and netizens to discuss the role of digital platforms in promoting human rights.
3. Awarding of Winners
   Date: December 1, 2024
   A virtual awards ceremony to announce the winners and recognize their contributions. The event will be livestreamed across HRonlinePH’s platforms.
