Championing Human Rights in the Digital Age: The 2023 #HumanRights Pinduteros’ Choice Awards

Human Rights Online Philippines (HRonlinePH.com), a pioneering platform dedicated to promoting and defending human rights in the Philippines, is pleased to announce the 2023 #HumanRights Pinduteros Choice Awards. This annual event recognizes the outstanding contributions of individuals and groups who have harnessed the power of the internet to inform, inspire, and mobilize online communities in the pursuit of human rights.

Established in March 2011, HRonlinePH.com has grown into a vibrant hub for human rights advocacy, providing a valuable source of news, analysis, and resources to a growing audience. The inaugural HR Pinduteros Choice Awards, held in 2011, marked the platform’s commitment to celebrating the efforts of those who champion human rights in the digital sphere.

This year’s awards ceremony will coincide with the Freedom of Expression Conference VII, scheduled for December 1, 2023, 7pm, at the Hive Hotel & Convention Place in Quezon City. The event, themed “Kampihan sa karapatan” (Fight for the right), will recognize winners across a range of categories, including HR Write-Up, HR Video, HR Infographics or Innovative Online Information Dissemination, HR Event, HR Campaign, Child-friendly Information or Online Practice in Media Literacy, HR Website, HRonlinePH Ambassador Against Disinformation, and Young HR Pinduteros’ Choice.

Nominations for the 2023 #HumanRights Pinduteros Choice Awards are based on the impact of online activities, as measured by engagement metrics on the HRonlinePH.com website and social media platforms.

Through this initiative, HRonlinePH.com aims to amplify the voices of human rights defenders, foster a culture of online activism, and inspire a new generation of advocates to champion human rights in the digital age.
