Training on “Advancing Knowledge on Social Media for Health Advocacy” Concludes with Resounding Success 🎉

The 2-day training on ‘Advancing Knowledge on Social Media for Health Advocacy’ concluded on March 21, 2024, at the Plaza Alemania Hotel, Iligan City. This training marked a resounding success, highlighting the collective commitment of the Health Alliance Volunteer Association (HAVA) and Influential and Empowered Youth (IE Youth), alongside The Asia Foundation, MISEREOR, and the Medical Action Group (MAG) Inc., to empower communities and sectors in Iligan City with the necessary tools and knowledge to harness the power of social media for health advocacy.

Throughout the training, health advocates, volunteers, and members of the Barangay and SK Councils from various barangays in Iligan City gained invaluable insights into different social media platforms. They also learned about the rules and regulations in social media posting. Armed with this newfound knowledge, they are now better equipped to effectively convey their advocacy messages on vital health issues to a wider audience. This fosters positive change and makes a tangible difference in their respective communities.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed resource speaker, Sir Pipo Gonzales of UP Diliman, for his invaluable expertise in social media literacy, insightful presentations, and unwavering dedication throughout the training sessions. Additionally, we express our gratitude to Sir Darwin Mendiola of MAG Inc. for organizing this training, ensuring a smooth and enriching learning experience for all participants. Lastly, we wholeheartedly extend our thanks to our host, Ma’am Sarahlane Usman Galleto, to all the participants and organizers who contributed to the success of this event. Your dedication and passion for promoting health and well-being are truly inspiring!
