To mark the June 26 International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) and Task Force Detainees of the Philippines (TFDP) in partnership with the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines (CHRP) together with the United Against Torture Coalition (UATC)-Philippines will hold “Basta Run Against Torture” BRAT XIII to highlight that- Everyone should be “#SafeInCustody-, raise public awareness about the Anti-Torture Law and promote the importance of effective monitoring mechanisms that can prevent torture in all places of where persons are deprived of their liberty such as the National Preventive Mechanism (NPM).
