Matapos ang pamamanggang nangyari sa pagitan Filipino at Chinese vessels sa Recto Bank nitong Linggo, humiling ang Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas na magpakitang gilas ang Hukbong Dagat ng Pilipinas at Philippine Coast Guard sa pagtatanggol ng mga mangingisda.

Idinirehe ng Pamalakaya sa Navy at PCG ang hamon matapos mapalubog ng mga Tsino ang F/B GIMVER 1 na may lulang 22 Pilipino.

“Our Navy’s presence is supposed to safeguard our marine territory, its resources, and most of all, our fishermen who are making a living out of our fishing waters,” sabi ni Fernando Hicap, pambansang tagapangulo ng Pamalakaya.
