INSTALLATION OF HISTORICAL MARKER AT MENDIOLA
On the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Martial Law on September 21, 2012, Remember ML@40 and T’bak will join the National Historical Commission (NHC) in the installation of a historical marker at the corner of Mendiola. This is to signify the historical importance of Mendiola Street as a venue for major protests against Martial Law.
It will be preceded by a 7:30 a.m. Mass at St. Anthony Shrine Church (VOT) and a program will be held at the foot of Mendiola by 9:00 a.m. (The Bustillos Church in Sampaloc, Manila was also a site of many protest actions against Martial Law). A procession will be held after the mass by 8:00 a.m. from Bustillos Church to Mendiola.
