Committee tasked to audit oil firms’ books meets on Monday

MANILA, Philippines – The independent review committee (IRC) formed by the Department of Energy (DOE) will meet on Monday to decide on how it would review the books of oil firms.
Energy Secretary Jose Rene Almendras said the nominees to the IRC had been asked to review the terms of reference (TOR) that the DOE drafted so they can decide on whether to accept their nomination to the committee.
“DOE assures that the sector nominees, who were chosen by their colleagues from the sectors that they represent, were selected based on their credibility, competence, integrity, commitment, and leadership,” Almendras said.
