‘US backed state abuse in Philippines’ -Wikileak
Diplomatic cables released by Wikileaks confirm that the US-backed security forces of the Philippines have committed numerous acts of manslaughter, abduction, and arbitrary arrest, Press TV‘s US Desk reports.

This took place while many strong statements voicing serious concerns over the brutal acts had been made.
The violations perpetrated by the Philippine security forces were so extensive that they grabbed the attention of the international community, leading to further isolation of the country’s former President Maria Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo — who served from 2001 to 2010.
