They’re not morons, and to say suicide is a complex phenomenon is not evading the issue, it is actually as complex as it gets.

There are reasons why it is vastly important to “ethically” discuss suicide, which means no blaming towards a singular institution or individual (even the victim), and we do not pose a singular cause for the event — because we also have a responsibility to the other vulnerable people there, we have a responsibility to tell them suicide is not the way to get things done. So we neither blame nor glorify the victim. She was a person, as you said, forced to extreme solutions, but she is that first — a person, not material for political pundits. She was first and foremost, an individual who suffered.

Of course we must focus on education reforms (education is after all, a basic right) and access to psych health care. But blaming and pointing fingers will go nowhere.
